- IP Australia has registered the QuantumAI Secure name and shield logo in two service classes
- Protection covers specified funds transfer, digital asset, secure email and data transfer services
- Codeifai is developing a secure messaging app targeting consumers and businesses seeking greater privacy controls
Special Report: Codeifai has secured Australian trade mark protection for QuantumAI Secure as it plans to add a privacy-focused messaging app to its technology offering.
IP Australia registered the name and shield logo on October 26 following examination and completion of the two-month opposition period.
Codeifai (ASX:CDE) said the registration supported protection of the brand across specified financial and communications services as the company pursued additional applications.
“We are pleased to have this Trade Mark registered so that the Quantum AI Secure product can now be deployed with additional features and market applications such as Quantum Secured messaging,” CDE chair John Houston said.
Privacy beyond the file transfer
Codeifai acquired QuantumAI Secure in February 2026.
The company describes it as a self-service platform for file transfers and payments using lattice-based post-quantum encryption designed to resist classical and quantum computing attacks.
Features include payment-locked file sharing, secure messaging workflows and two-factor authentication.
Trade mark No. 2636106 covers QuantumAI Secure in Classes 36 and 38, with protection running from the March 16, 2026 filing date until March 16, 2036, renewable thereafter.
Class 36 includes electronic funds transfers, cryptocurrency and crypto asset transfers, and management of transferable securities.
Class 38 covers secure email, data transfer and wireless data transfer services.
Codeifai now plans to launch a messaging app for users concerned about how platforms handle their conversations and whether artificial intelligence systems use their messages.
The company identifies the US, Germany, Canada, Australia and UK as prospective consumer markets.
CDE also sees applications in financial services, healthcare and legal businesses seeking confidential communications.
Codeifai will centre its approach on a private software stack under business control, with messages kept out of large language models.
A security transition with a deadline
The demand drivers for secure communication extend beyond messaging privacy.
Attackers can collect encrypted information today and retain it for possible decryption by future quantum computers, potentially exposing data that must remain confidential for years.
Post-quantum cryptography addresses that risk through mathematical algorithms that run on conventional computers.
In August 2024, the US National Institute of Standards and Technology finalised its first three standards, including the lattice-based ML-KEM key-establishment standard.
In Australia, the Australian Signals Directorate recommends organisations complete their post-quantum transition by the end of 2030, with refined plans by the end of 2026 and migration underway by the end of 2028.
For Codeifai, the next step is developing the proposed messaging product around its existing file-transfer and payment platform, with Australian brand protection now in place.
